Sometimes a tooth has more decay than we can fix with a simple filling.

If there is too much decay, or a tooth is cracked or broken, we may use a crown to restore the damaged tooth.

A crown covers your tooth entirely, fitting snugly at the gum line to protect the remaining healthy portion of your natural tooth. The crown allows us to preserve the tooth, restoring it to fully functional strength. It will also restore the appearance of your teeth and face. A crown will help keep your jaw and bite properly aligned, and it will also prevent other teeth from shifting and becoming misaligned.

Crowns now are generally made of porcelain and look almost exactly like a natural tooth.
